(Part 2)
Rupee the Soca star know for his hits like Tempted To Touch hyped up the crowd and getting everyone to take place in a jumping contest to see if New York could take the title from his previous performance locations like China, Montreal and Minneapolis.
Dexta Daps took flight and wowed the park as the ladies packed up the crowd when he touched the stage and delivered an excellent performance. When he came out he spoke about how he was in his hotel room “dying to see his New York people” which was evident from the energy filled show he gave. The new dancehall sensation continues to rise.
Next up was the reggae superstar Gyptian who touched the stage as the sun turned up and pierced the few clouds that out and did some of his early hits like serious times and reminded the crowd “from the first day” till now he is “versatile same way.” After a few of his culture classics he then turned it up and did some of his newer dancehall hits and also brought out friends Khago who performed one of his hits “Nah Go Dis Mi Friend Dem” and Kranium who did his highly popular hit tune “Nobody Haffi Know.“
With the energy turned up Markus and Paul of Platinum Kids took it even higher as they shelled the park with some juggling of dancehall hits, They played good music between every set earlier with Jabba from Massive B yet the last segment was truly exceptional!
And then the Reggae Ambassadors Third World took the stage and truly played music. Delivering a One of A Kind performance doing some of there many hits like “Reggae Ambassador“, “Forbidden Love“, “96 Degrees In The Shade”, “Try Jah Love” and thier famous cover of the O’Jays “Now That We Found Love” just to name a few. There were also exciting solo segments with the keyboardist, drummer and an amazing violoncello segment by one of the original founding members Steven “Cat” Coore.
