In her modeling career she won 1st runner-up in the Miss USA Pageant and in film she is the first “woman of color” to win a leading role Oscar. One of her first professional roles was as Emily in Living Dolls then she progressed onto starring in films like Boomerang, X-Men as Storm, Monster’s Ball and Catwoman.
